The Center for Media & Community at EDC promotes innovative uses of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to foster stronger communities and lifelong learning.

Through projects, publications, and collaborations, the Center seeks to frame these emerging issues and develop solutions that can sustain the steady growth of digital literacy.

CMC to attend WSIS

Andy Carvin and Andrea Taylor of the Center for Media & Community will attend the upcoming WSIS conference. Now in the final phase of a large-scale, two-part meeting, the World Summit for the Information Society will convene in Tunis from November 16-18, 2005. See which members of the Digital Divide Network will be attending the event.

CMC Assisting Hurricane Relief Efforts

The Center for Media & Community is assisting various online efforts to bring aid to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina, which struck states off of the Gulf of Mexico during the last week of August 2005. CMC offers deep sympathies to those affected by the disaster, and urges donations be made to the Red Cross.
